Berea College Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for undergraduate international students. This scholarship funds 100% of the tuition for 100% of international students in the first year of admission.

Berea College Scholarships for International Students is available to international students who wish to study for an undergraduate degree at Berea College in the United States in the upcoming academic year. The Berea College Scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition fees and other expenses for 100% of international students in the first year of study. 

Berea College is considered a top university in the United States. It provides 100% fully funded scholarships for international students. Berea College is open to applications for international candidates seeking to pursue education at the institution in the next academic year.

 Berea College has a rich history and welcomes students of all nationalities, religious beliefs, races and ethnicities. Admission to Berea College is a competitive one and you need to meet the rigorous requirements of the school to be considered.

 Berea provides bachelor’s degrees in 32 different majors. It has a fully participatory work-study program that requires students to work on campus at least 10 hours a week and perform service work in any of more than 130 departments.

 Berea’s main service area is southern Appalachia, but students come from 46 and 58 states in the US and countries of the world respectively, and about one-third of the students are ethnic minorities or come from outside the United States.

Eligible Group

All admitted domestic and international students are eligible to receive the Berea College Scholarships for International Students, so long as they are undertaking a bachelor’s degree program at the college.

General Eligibility Requirements for the Berea College Scholarships for International Students

Applicants vying for a position at Berea College must be students with strong academic potential and financial needs. Most students at the Berea College have ACT (or SAT equivalent) scores between 20 and 30 and have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 in a strong pre-university program. Students can take the ACT or SAT test.

Other factors such as community service, leadership quality and motivation level will also be taken into consideration. The following high school courses are recommended by the college:

  • 4 units of English (including composition, rhetoric, and literature) 
  • 3 units of Mathematics (at least Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry) 
  • 2 units of Laboratory Science 
  • 2 units of Social Science/History (including World History) 
  • 2 units of a foreign language.

Berea College Scholarships for International Students Benefits

Berea College Scholarships for International Students covers 100% of all the needed expenses for 100% of international students in their first year of admission into the college. In the following years, international students are expected to save $1,000 each year to cover their expenses. The school offers summer jobs for international students for them to be able to fulfil this obligation.

Admitted international students pay an entrance fee of US$50 and a deposit of US$2,200 to confirm their admission. This deposit will later be used by international students to pay off certain fees within the 4 years of studies. For students who cannot pay all or part of the deposit, additional financial assistance can be obtained.

Through the college’s work plan, all international students have been given a paid on-campus job throughout the school year. Students can use their salary (approximately $2,000 in the first year) to cover personal expenses.
