What is Nearpod?

Nearpod can be explained as an engagement app that brings teachers and students together on the same platform. It’s an education-focused app designed to make teaching and learning fun.

As with other apps of this type, the platform allows teachers to create lessons from scratch and also upload their already created lessons. In addition, teachers can use the extensive library of prepackaged courses for free.
Nearpod helps educators have fun learning by using concepts like surveys, quizzes, 3D images, and more.

How Does Nearpod works?

Nearpod creates a well-synchronized network for students and tutors. The app works just like Google Classroom and FlipGrid. Tutors can create full lessons on the website and then decide how to involve students in their work.

It is also a great resource for teachers looking for lessons out of the box. You can share your personal lessons with other tutors and help build an even bigger network.
Nearpod is cross-platform, including Apple and Android devices, and it even has a web app that works in any browser. The idea is to make this teaching tool accessible no matter where you are or what you are using.

How Are Lessons Taken on Nearpod?

With Nearpod, educators can customize their own lessons from a variety of options, including Google Slides. Teachers can easily upload their PowerPoint, PDF and other presentations. educators can create contents that are engaging and add them to their lessons, such as Posts, Prompts, and Quizzes.

If you don’t have time to create an entire lesson, don’t worry! the platform also offers a ton of lessons that are already made, which you can customize. These lessons are standardized with K12 systems. This means you can choose a lesson based on your grade so that it fits your schedule perfectly.

Nearpod works seamlessly with Google Classroom. The lessons are built into learning management systems such as Schoology and canvas.

How do Nearpod assessments work?

Nearpod has a well comprehensive assessment strategy for students and educators. The platform is unique in that it allows you to create lessons at the student’s pace. The idea behind this is to allow students to learn at their own pace. While most educational institutions do not have the ability to group students of their own age, Nearpod understands that not all students learn the same way.

Student Pace Lessons allow students to submit their work for assessment when they feel they have done a good job. Teachers can also be rated by students on Nearpod. In addition, teachers can track their students’ progress during the class to see who may be needing more resources.

What is Nearpod VR?

Another aspect that distinguishes Nearpod is the integrated virtual reality function. As virtual reality hit, the platform found a great way to use technology to improve education.
With Nearpod VR, teachers can take their students on an excursion anywhere in the world! If you have a great VR headset, you can also take the VR tour right in your browser.

Is Nearpod free?

Nearpod is free but has add-ons that can be purchased. These add-ons include ready-made lessons. Nearpod also offers gold and platinum accounts with more features such as the possibility of creating your own VR tours and activating all paid lessons. While the free version already offers a ton of features, the paid accounts are quite cheap.

How much is a Nearpod subscription?
